Service Provider Membership

This class of membership is open to businesses, professional practices, places of education and other bodies in the public or private sectors anywhere in the world providing services to inventors who agree to abide by the terms of membership. 

So far, the only terms are that service providers will offer time or other resources free of charge or at a published discount. To give an idea of what we have in mind, nipc members give a free 2 hour workshop at the Media Centre through the Huddersfield Business Generator between 11:00 and 13:00 on the last Friday of every month except August, December and public holidays and allow 20% discount on hourly rates for advice and advocacy to public access clients.  As we get bigger and gain more experience we will doubtless need more rules, but service providers will be consulted on those well in advance.

Membership runs from 1 January to 31 December. For the year ended 31 December 2006 there will be no subscriptions. Again, that will probably have to change as we take on more responsibilities but, if we do have to charge, the rate will be no higher than the amount necessary to cover our costs, it will be good value for money and there will be concessions for social enterprises and start-ups.
