Three interests are protected by the law:

bullet

the works of artists, authors, broadcasters, composers dramatists, film makers, publisher, recording studios and others are protected from copying by copyright;

bullet

the reputation of authors and the integrity of their works are protected by moral rights; and

bullet

the right to record performances of actors, dancers, musicians, singers and other performers is restricted by rights in performances.
